Imposter Syndrome Evidence Log

Systematically collects objective evidence of competence to counter feelings of being a fraud.

When a client consistently minimizes their contributions or writes off praise as unearned, their feelings of fraudulence can be deeply entrenched. Despite a track record of success, they may fixate on perceived mistakes or gaps in their knowledge, convinced they are fooling everyone around them.

This log provides a systematic way to gather objective data on their performance and contributions, directly challenging the feelings of inadequacy. Instead of relying on subjective impressions, the client builds a concrete record of their competence. They leave with a tangible reference point to ground them when self-doubt arises.

Imposter Syndrome Evidence Log

For the next seven days, you will keep a log of objective evidence of your competence. Evidence is an observable outcome, a completed action, or specific feedback from another person. It is not a feeling or a self-assessment of your performance.

Each day, record at least one entry. Note the event, the concrete evidence, and any thought that contradicts the evidence. Do not debate the contradictory thought. Simply record it. Examples of evidence include: a completed project file, an email confirming a task is done, a direct quote of praise from a colleague, or a problem that no longer exists because of your action.
